Cocktail Club: Gin

Cocktail Club, a hands-on spirited networking series, is back!

Join us as we toast spring's arrival with Gin and its lively botanicals!

Monday, April 8

The New York Distilling Company

$40 per person

What better way to toast spring’s arrival than with gin and its lively botanicals?

Gin is IN for the April meeting of Cocktail Club at the New York Distilling Company in BrooklynJoin us as owner and distiller, Allen Katz, leadus on discovery of gin: its history and its different styles —yes, there is more than one style of gin! Of course, there will be cocktails, and also the chance to try your hand at stirring and shaking.

Gin is no stranger to Brooklyn. The earliest distilleries in Brooklyn date back to the 1700s. During Prohibition there were over 50,000 illicit stills in New York City. Since Prohibitionhowever, the ethereal perfumes of distillation have been largely absent… until now.

The New York Distilling Company builds on this dream by establishing one of the nation’s premiere craft distilleries.

Allen Katz is one of the nation’s leading experts on distilled spirits and cocktails. He is the Director of the Spirits Education & Mixology for Southern Wine & Spirits of New York and is at the forefront of industry training in New York and around the country. He is renowned for his public and professional seminars on topics of America’s food and cocktail heritage and was previously the host of The Cocktail Hour for Martha Stewart on SiriusXM.
